The Charter Board is using this opportunity to receive public comment as they perform the task that was set before them. The Charter Board is doing a great job of remaining politically neutral while working for the benefit of providing the best product for all residents to digest. The Board is working hard through the Public Comment meetings to inform the public and push back on misinformation designed to scare and intimidate residents.
Warm Greetings to the Charter Board, thank you all for your service. That being said, this is a repeat request that the Charter Board hold a special meeting if needed - but, please take time to Tell Citizens WHO YOU ARE. All citizens know is a name and what district you live in, or at large. Maybe a profile page at the Charter page @ the County Site with a nice head shot, and a paragraph sharing your credentials in forming a Government and information management.
As everyone knows, this is NOT the average Citizens Board. This is not a challenge to any qualifications, just a polite way to educate Citizens to KNOW Who You Are, and WHY - you ALL support Charter Form as it appears in the meetings so far. We see you are simply using the failed 2014 Charter as a template of sorts. That is interesting you would not want to present your own UNIQUE product - and your turnaround was decreased from 18 months allowed by constitution - to a quick 12 month schedule. That with the legal question of who can dissolve the Charter Board and Who is really in control at this point. Legally, it appears to us that Charter Board Chairman Waring has supreme executive power at this point - assigned from 3 of the 5 Commissioners. ? This is why, the process IS so important... if wyacant trust the process, how ya gonna trust the product.
There might have been some other ethics issues the Commissioners are dealing with that might have forced this quick move to Charter with Citizen consultation and debate first.
Also - Added note for the official record, we are requesting a Public Information Request -PIA be responded to by January 30, 2024 - on the Cost to Date, as of Dec. 1, 2023 to run this Charter Board. Details are in the PIA letter. We will publish the results of our Quarterly cost tracking tiger team up to Nov 2024.
