What is the point of these written comments? The Charter Board meetings have them listed as an agenda item but they are not read or discussed. The only feedback I have received is from Mr. Bungcayao concerning problems I have noted with the page. If we are taking the time to think about the issues involved and present our opinions, we should have some acknowledgement that they are at least being reviewed.
There has been some discussion by the Board about the lack of citizens attending the meetings. I would argue that the location is not the key issue. Why would I travel anywhere in the county when the only opportunity to engage is a prepared 3 minute speech that I am told will not be responded to? I can and do listen to the recording at a later time when convenient for me. I do not believe other events, such as commissioner town halls, that are scheduled for the same time have any impact on attendance at the Board meetings.
