Has consideration been given to the potential impact of residency requirements for the Chief Administrative Officer and County Attorney? Moving a family for a job is expensive and disruptive. How much of their focus during their initial period of employment would be on finding and selling a home and all that goes with it? Since retaining that job is at the discretion of an elected official it becomes a very risky proposition. Will there be contracts for these positions as there are now? This seems to be best left to the discretion of the County Executive. Why would we elect someone without the judgement to hire the best people in roles critical to their success? How would living in a neighboring county disqualify them?
